Jacob & Co Unveils a New Chapter in Luxury Watches With the Angel Cut Billionaire Timepiece
In the rarefied world of luxury watches, innovation often emerges at the intersection of craftsmanship and artistic vision.
Jacob & Co introduces a new dimension to high jewelry watchmaking with the debut of its patented angel cut diamond, revealed through the Billionaire Double Tourbillon. Designed to elevate brilliance and redefine how light interacts with precious stones, this creation speaks directly to the expectations of the 1%.
A New Signature in Diamond Craftsmanship
Developed over two years, the angel cut diamond represents a proprietary innovation entirely conceived in house. Named in honor of Angela Arabo, the cut reflects both personal heritage and technical precision. Each stone features 37 meticulously arranged facets, symbolizing 37 years of marriage, while introducing a new geometry that enhances luminosity.
At the center of the diamond lies a lozenge shaped table framed within a stepped rectangular silhouette. This architecture transforms the way light travels through the stone, creating a continuous glow and a refined sense of depth. The result is a radiant surface that delivers exceptional brilliance across every angle.
Within the universe of luxury watches, such proprietary developments signal a shift toward greater exclusivity and creative control.
The Billionaire Watch Reinvented
The Billionaire Double Tourbillon becomes the first timepiece to showcase this new diamond cut. Crafted in white gold, the 41 millimeter case is set with 98 angel cut diamonds totaling more than 51 carats. The dial continues this expression of brilliance with additional angel cut and baguette cut stones, while the clasp and crown extend the design with further diamond detailing.
In total, the watch features nearly 300 diamonds, amounting to approximately 79 carats, with a majority crafted in the angel cut. This level of gem setting transforms the timepiece into a sculptural object where light becomes a defining element.
At the heart of the watch, two flying one minute tourbillons positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock showcase the Maison’s mastery of mechanical watchmaking. The hand wound caliber, composed of over 460 components, delivers a 72 hour power reserve, reinforcing the balance between technical precision and artistic expression.
Luxury Watches as Collectible Assets for the 1%
The introduction of the angel cut arrives at a time when the global luxury watches market continues to expand, driven by the growing population of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. Wealth reports indicate that this segment is expected to grow by more than 20 percent in the coming years, with collectors increasingly seeking rare, investment grade timepieces.
Swiss watch exports exceed CHF 26 billion annually, reflecting sustained demand for high craftsmanship and limited production. Creations such as the Billionaire Double Tourbillon align with a broader trend in which exceptional watches function as both cultural objects and long term assets.
For the 1%, ownership extends beyond acquisition. It becomes a statement of identity, connoisseurship, and access to pieces that exist in extremely limited numbers.
A New Standard of Exclusivity
Limited to only 18 pieces, the Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut represents a new milestone within high jewelry watchmaking. The integration of a patented diamond cut within a fully skeletonized tourbillon movement reflects a vision where innovation, heritage, and artistry converge.
Jacob & Co continues to shape the future of luxury watches by introducing new standards in design and craftsmanship. Through the angel cut, the Maison offers collectors a new way to experience brilliance, one defined by precision, light, and the pursuit of excellence.
