Louis Vuitton Revives Its Iconic Classic Run With an Extraordinary Journey Across Italy
Louis Vuitton is reconnecting with one of its most celebrated automotive traditions.

The Maison has announced the return of the Louis Vuitton Classic Run after a fourteen-year absence. This exclusive event will once again unite historic automobiles, exceptional craftsmanship, and extraordinary destinations, reinforcing the House’s enduring relationship with the world of luxury mobility.
A 600-Kilometer Journey Through the Dolomites
Beginning on September 1, 2026, the Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run will gather 25 carefully selected vintage automobiles for an unforgettable 600-kilometer journey. The route travels from Venice through the spectacular Dolomite mountains before concluding at the legendary Monza Formula One circuit.
For The 1%, collectible automobiles continue to represent one of the world’s most desirable luxury assets. According to Altrata’s World Ultra Wealth Report 2026, the global Ultra High Net Worth population reached a record 556,850 individuals in 2025, collectively controlling more than $63.8 trillion in wealth. As personal fortunes expand, passion assets—including classic automobiles, fine art, collectible watches, and exceptional design—continue to play an increasingly important role within private collections.
North America Remains the Largest Wealth Market
North America continues to hold its place as the world’s leading concentration of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals.
The region is expected to add roughly 77,000 more UHNWIs by 2030, pushing its total beyond 300,000 individuals.
The report also draws attention to the entrepreneurial character of wealth creation across North America. Around 80 percent of the region’s UHNWIs are entirely self-made, the highest proportion among the world’s major wealth markets.
This underscores the enduring role of innovation, technology, private enterprise, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and investment as the principal engines of new wealth.
From Venice to Monza
The adventure begins at the historic Villa Pisani in Venice, a symbolic location that previously hosted the conclusion of the Maison’s Classic Serenissima Run in 2012. Participants will then travel through northern Italy, crossing some of Europe’s most celebrated mountain roads while discovering architectural landmarks, cultural treasures, and breathtaking landscapes recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The event concludes with a prestigious parade at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, opening the Italian Formula One Grand Prix weekend. The destination reflects Louis Vuitton’s expanding presence in global motorsport, following its role as Official Partner of Formula One across the championship’s international calendar.
A Curated Celebration of Automotive History
Participation is reserved for a highly curated selection of automobiles manufactured from the earliest years of motoring through the 1970s. Every vehicle will undergo approval by the Maison before joining the event, ensuring a collection that celebrates automotive history, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.
Throughout the route, competitors will complete precision driving challenges. These include regularity trials, average speed assessments, and official timing controls designed to honor classic rally traditions.
Originally established in 1993, the Louis Vuitton Classic Run quickly became one of the luxury world’s most prestigious historic driving events. Previous editions travelled through destinations including Malaysia, Tuscany, China, and Central Europe, combining automotive excellence with cultural discovery and exclusive hospitality.
This year’s itinerary also offers participants privileged access to some of Italy’s most remarkable heritage sites. Among them are the Louis Vuitton atelier in Fiesso d’Artico and Milan’s historic Castello Sforzesco, where the awards ceremony will take place.
An Extraordinary Trophy by Sabine Marcelis and Venini
The winning crew will receive an extraordinary trophy designed by internationally acclaimed Dutch artist Sabine Marcelis and crafted by the historic Venetian glassmaker Venini. Presented inside Louis Vuitton’s signature Trophy Trunk, the award embodies the Maison’s unique ability to unite luxury craftsmanship, contemporary art, and timeless design. While the event celebrates automotive heritage, the sculptural elegance of the trophy subtly echoes the artistic purity often admired in contemporary design and selected works of abstract art.
The Rise of Experiential Luxury
The return of the Louis Vuitton Classic Run reflects the growing appeal of experiential luxury among Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. Beyond collecting exceptional automobiles, today’s global collectors increasingly seek curated journeys that combine heritage, craftsmanship, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
For The 1%, the Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run represents an extraordinary celebration of elegance in motion, where automotive history and the art of travel continue to inspire a new generation of collectors.
