Mobu 33 Brings Architectural Openness to Luxury Yacht Design

Mobu 33 Brings Architectural Openness to the Luxury Yacht Experience

BAZ Yacht Design introduces a 108-foot luxury yacht concept shaped around a dramatic 12-foot atrium, expansive social spaces, and a lifestyle intimately connected to the sea.
Architecture is becoming an increasingly powerful expression of the luxury yacht experience.

Owners now seek vessels that unite distinctive design, generous spaces, and a natural relationship with their surroundings. The new Mobu 33 concept from BAZ Yacht Design captures this philosophy through an architectural approach built around openness, movement, and social living.
Measuring 108 feet, Mobu 33 places a striking 12-foot atrium at the very centre of its design. The concept creates a continuous dialogue between the yacht’s interior, exterior, and surrounding seascape, transforming the central living areas into an expansive environment for relaxation and entertaining.

For The 1%, Mobu represents an approach to yachting where architecture becomes part of the experience itself. Every space contributes to a private lifestyle defined by freedom, privacy, and time spent on the water.

A 12-Foot Atrium Defines the Luxury Yacht

Founded in Turkey by Bilge Zaptçıoğlu Atal and Barbaros Atal, BAZ Yacht Design developed Mobu around the way owners and guests interact aboard a luxury yacht.
The aft atrium extends from the cockpit towards the main salon, connecting different levels within one architectural volume. The result creates visual continuity throughout the yacht while maintaining a strong connection with the sea.
The atrium also establishes the circulation of the vessel. Guests move naturally between the principal social areas, accommodation, and exterior spaces through carefully considered transitions.
This architectural centrepiece gives Mobu a distinctive identity and establishes a sense of scale throughout its 108-foot profile.

Indoor and Outdoor Living Become One Experience

Mobu has been conceived around fluid indoor and outdoor living. Generous deck spaces and broad terraces create environments where owners and guests can move naturally throughout the day.
The arrangement supports a wide variety of experiences, from private moments at anchor to sophisticated gatherings with family and friends.

The main deck forms the social heart of the yacht, while half-level transitions lead towards the accommodation on the lower deck. This configuration creates a continuous flow between spaces and gives each area its own sense of purpose.
For UHNWIs, this approach reflects the role of the modern luxury yacht as a private residence on the water. Social spaces, accommodation, and exterior environments come together within one highly personalised setting.

Private Accommodation for Eight Guests

Mobu 33 accommodates up to eight guests across four cabins.
The accommodation includes a primary suite, a VIP suite, and two guest cabins. Dedicated quarters provide accommodation for up to four crew members.
The intimate capacity reinforces the private character of the yacht, creating an environment suited to family journeys, extended stays, and gatherings among close guests.
This focus on personal space aligns naturally with the priorities of The 1%, where privacy and exclusivity remain central elements of the luxury yacht lifestyle.

Performance for Coastal Exploration

Mobu combines its architectural character with a performance-focused engineering concept.
BAZ Yacht Design envisions the yacht with four 1,000 hp Volvo Penta engines, providing a projected cruising speed of 27 knots and a top speed of 32 knots.
A draft of approximately 4.5 feet also gives the vessel access to coastal waters, bays, and marinas. This capability expands the possibilities for owners interested in exploring islands, waterfront destinations, and secluded anchorages.
The combination of speed, manoeuvrability, and spatial design creates a yacht conceived around movement and destination-led experiences.

The Luxury Yacht as Private Architecture

Mobu reflects an important direction within contemporary yacht design. A luxury yacht increasingly represents a highly personal architectural environment shaped around the owner’s lifestyle.
For Ultra High Net Worth Individuals, ownership can provide access to a world where hospitality, travel, privacy, and design exist within a single asset.
Mobu’s atrium illustrates this philosophy clearly. Instead of functioning purely as a visual statement, the space defines how guests gather, circulate, and experience their surroundings.
The sea remains visible and present throughout the experience, giving the yacht a sense of connection to each destination it visits.

A Turkish Design Vision With European Ambitions

BAZ Yacht Design was established in 2014 and provides exterior and interior design services for custom yachts, semi-custom projects, and refits.
The studio operates from Marmaris, one of Turkey’s established yachting destinations, and has expanded its European presence through a branch in Hamburg.
Mobu 33 currently exists as a concept available for development with an owner and selected shipyard. This stage provides an opportunity for the final vessel to evolve around an owner’s individual vision, lifestyle, and requirements.
For The 1%, this level of personalisation forms an essential part of yacht ownership. Materials, layouts, entertainment areas, and private spaces can become expressions of individual taste.

Mobu 33 and the Future of Luxury Yacht Design

The Mobu 33 concept brings architecture to the centre of the luxury yacht conversation.
Its 12-foot atrium, open-plan social areas, expansive terraces, and accommodation for eight guests create a vessel focused on connection, space, and sophisticated life at sea.
Performance adds another dimension, with four projected 1,000 hp engines and a 32-knot top speed supporting journeys across coastal destinations and international yachting hubs.
For The 1%, Mobu presents a compelling vision of the luxury yacht as private architecture in motion, bringing together design, performance, social experiences, and access to the sea within one highly personal environment.
