Krug Blends Champagne and Music in Los Angeles | Fine Wine and Spirits

Krug Transforms Champagne Tasting Into a Live Musical Experience in Los Angeles

Krug is bringing Champagne, gastronomy and music together in Los Angeles with The Art of Blending Krug & Sound, an intimate three evening experience at the celebrated Larrabee Studios. Taking place on September 28, 29 and 30, 2026, the event places guests inside Studio 6 for an exploration of Fine wine and spirits where each tasting impression becomes part of an original musical composition created live during the evening.

The concept draws inspiration from the art of assemblage that defines Krug. Just as individual wines contribute their character to the final composition of a Champagne, the emotions, aromas and sensations expressed by guests will become creative elements interpreted through music. Krug Chef de Caves Julie Cavil views music as a language capable of translating sensations and emotions, creating a natural dialogue between the Maison’s approach to Champagne and the creative process inside a recording studio.

Krug Champagne Meets the Art of Sound

The musical experience is led by 14 time award winning mixing engineer and Larrabee Studios owner Manny Marroquin alongside producers Scott Tibbs, Nick Rosen and Mike Bennett. Throughout each session, the musicians will respond to conversations and tasting impressions from the guests before transforming those ideas into a single composition created within the studio.
At the heart of the tasting is Les Créations de 2013, bringing together Krug 2013 and Krug Grande Cuvée 169ème Édition. The experience continues with Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition and Krug Rosé 29ème Édition, allowing guests to explore several expressions of the Maison through a carefully orchestrated sensory journey.
Chef Oscar Torres of VERSE completes the experience with a multicourse menu created around the Champagnes. Gastronomy, Champagne and sound become interconnected elements of the evening, reflecting an approach to Fine wine and spirits centred on culture, creativity and personal experience.

Fine Wine and Spirits Enter the World of Experiential Luxury

For Ultra High Net Worth Individuals, experiences of this nature reflect the increasingly cultural role of Fine wine and spirits. Exceptional Champagne can become part of a wider world encompassing gastronomy, music, contemporary art, design and private hospitality, giving The 1% opportunities to engage with prestigious Maisons through memorable sensory encounters.
The scale of this audience is substantial. Altrata’s World Ultra Wealth Report 2025 identifies 510,810 Ultra High Net Worth Individuals worldwide, defined as people possessing at least US$30 million in net worth. Together, this community controls approximately US$59.8 trillion, representing 32.4 percent of the wealth held by the global High Net Worth population.
The same research reveals that Ultra High Net Worth Individuals represent approximately 1 percent of the global millionaire population while holding around 32 percent of its collective wealth. This concentration of wealth creates an influential audience for Champagne houses that combine exceptional cuvées with intimate experiences, cultural collaborations and access to distinctive environments.

Champagne as a Cultural Experience for The 1%

Krug has developed an enduring dialogue between Champagne and music, inviting artists to interpret the emotions and individuality expressed through its cuvées. The Los Angeles programme continues this creative philosophy while introducing participation into the experience, allowing guests themselves to influence the music created during each session.
Manny Marroquin describes the collaboration as an opportunity for every conversation, shared moment and glass of Champagne to contribute to the creative process. This philosophy mirrors the art of blending, where individual components come together to form a complete expression with its own identity.
The experience will also extend throughout the month through a Krug Grande Cuvée pairing created by Chef Oscar Torres at VERSE and neighbouring restaurant Mensano, bringing the Maison’s relationship with gastronomy and music to a wider Los Angeles audience.
For The 1%, The Art of Blending Krug & Sound illustrates the evolution of Fine wine and spirits into a deeply experiential expression of luxury. Through Champagne, cuisine and live composition, Krug creates an environment where craftsmanship becomes culture and every tasting contributes to a story composed in the moment.
