How Artificial Intelligence is Redefining the Luxury Yacht Experience

At this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Next Yacht Group revealed a technological leap that could reshape life at sea for the world’s most discerning yacht owners. The group parent company to AB Yachts and Maiora introduced the Next AI-Integrated System, debuting aboard the AB 110, its newest luxury yacht.

This marks the beginning of an era where artificial intelligence becomes not an accessory, but the silent intelligence behind the world’s most sophisticated vessels.

A Digital Brain for the Modern Superyacht

Every luxury yacht is a complex orchestra of independent systems: navigation, climate, entertainment, safety, propulsion. Traditionally, these operate through separate interfaces, requiring constant management from crew and captains.

Next Yacht Group’s new AI platform unites them all into one cohesive ecosystem—a “digital brain” that learns, predicts, and adapts. From energy efficiency and fuel levels to lighting ambiance and maintenance schedules, the AI observes and optimizes every aspect of onboard life.

Unlike traditional cloud-based smart systems, the Next AI-Integrated System operates locally on the vessel itself. This architecture ensures complete privacy and independence from internet connections, offering real-time functionality even in the middle of the ocean. Owners may still enable 5G/WAN connectivity for remote monitoring, but full data ownership remains aboard—secure and personal.

As Giorgio Mattei, Deputy Chairman of Next Yacht Group, explains,

Seamless Control, Tailored for The 1%

Integrated into the AB 110 and expanding across all AB Yachts and Maiora models by next year, the system delivers a level of intelligent autonomy once reserved for advanced aerospace or architecture.

Owners can now interact with their yacht through an intuitive virtual assistant, available via the My AB and My Maiora apps. This digital companion responds to text commands, retrieves data, and executes onboard adjustments instantly—from climate control and entertainment to real-time diagnostics.

In development for the coming months: always-on voice activation and predictive maintenance, allowing the system to anticipate and alert the crew to potential issues before they occur—a crucial leap for reliability and peace of mind during long-range voyages.

The Intersection of Intelligence and Indulgence

The integration of AI represents a profound shift in what defines luxury at sea. It is no longer only about materials or aesthetics—it’s about intelligence. For the new generation of UHNWIs, luxury yachts are evolving from handcrafted vessels into sentient environments, capable of thinking, learning, and enhancing every journey.

With the AB 110, the union of speed, design, and artificial intelligence positions Next Yacht Group at the frontier of innovation—an alliance of human artistry and machine precision.

In the world of The 1%, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
And now, even the sea listens.
