The Diamond Collective: A New Chapter for Natural Diamonds and the Art of Luxury Jewelry
The Natural Diamond Council has stepped into a new era. Now known as The Diamond Collective, the organization unveils a global strategy designed to place natural diamonds at the heart of contemporary culture while deepening their role within luxury jewelry.

Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Amber Pepper, the Collective brings together producers, retailers, designers, brands and creative voices on a shared platform devoted to consumer engagement, trusted information and storytelling that resonates on an emotional level.
A Transformation Shaped by the Diamond Community
This evolution follows six months of consultation across the natural diamond community, and it reflects a broad, forward-looking vision for the category. The Diamond Collective will serve as the organization’s public identity across international markets, while the Natural Diamond Council continues as its legal entity.
The result is a structure that carries established industry knowledge into a fresh cultural platform. It allows the origin, craftsmanship and personal meaning of natural diamonds to be communicated with clarity and grace to audiences around the world.
Three Priorities: Unite, Protect, Inspire
At the core of the strategy sit three guiding priorities, each supporting a distinct part of the natural diamond journey.
- Unite builds a collaborative network, connecting producer nations, retailers, luxury jewelry houses, designers, creatives and emerging industry voices around shared category development.
- Protect places consumer confidence first, through evidence-led education, precise terminology, transparent provenance and accessible information about the geological formation and cultural value of natural diamonds.
- Inspire situates diamonds within culture through creativity, global storytelling and experiences that connect precious stones with celebrations, personal milestones and family legacies.
Turning Strategy Into Measurable Action
Several planned initiatives will translate this vision into tangible progress across the industry and its international consumer markets.
Global Steering Committees will create structured participation for contributors from within the diamond sector and the wider cultural landscape. Partnerships with producer nations will give diamond communities an active role in the stories surrounding their own resources. A universal Trustmark will support recognition and confidence, while origin and provenance narratives will illuminate the people, places and expertise behind each natural diamond.
The organization will also establish the Diamond Desire Index in partnership with Basis Global, creating a consistent framework for understanding consumer sentiment and category engagement. Baseline research will begin in the United States, India and China during the fourth quarter of 2026, examining consideration, purchase intention, sentiment and advocacy. These insights will help luxury jewelry businesses shape culturally relevant communication, while offering the industry an annual view of consumer attitudes and demand.
A Strategy Aligned With the World's Wealth
This new direction arrives at a moment when Ultra High Net Worth Individuals hold remarkable influence across luxury markets. The Altrata World Ultra Wealth Report 2025 identified 510,810 individuals with personal wealth above $30 million at the end of June 2025, representing combined wealth of $59.8 trillion. This community accounted for just 1.1 percent of the global High Net Worth population, yet held 32.4 percent of its collective wealth, with annual luxury goods spending reaching an estimated $290 billion.
For the 1%, natural diamond jewelry can hold personal achievement, family continuity, cultural participation and thoughtful collecting within a single creation. Provenance, rarity, craftsmanship and emotional meaning give natural diamonds a distinctive place within private collections, particularly when each jewel carries a clear account of its origin and creative journey. The Diamond Collective’s emphasis on trust and storytelling speaks directly to this audience, offering information that enriches the experience of acquisition, ownership and legacy planning.
A Market Ready for a Cultural Vision
The broader luxury jewelry market offers fertile ground for the organization’s cultural ambitions. The McKinsey State of Fashion 2026 projects annual jewelry unit growth of 4.1 percent between 2025 and 2028, while branded jewelry represented 25 percent of the market in 2024. Branded jewelry recorded annual growth of 8.3 percent between 2021 and 2024, a reflection of how deeply recognizable design, symbolic identity and established craftsmanship shape purchasing decisions.
Building on a Rich Institutional Heritage
The Diamond Collective builds upon an institutional history that began with the Diamond Producers Association in 2015 and continued through the Natural Diamond Council identity introduced in 2020. Each chapter has contributed to the public story of natural diamonds, from industry collaboration and advertising to editorial content and consumer education.
The new platform draws these foundations together through cultural relevance, digital discovery, investment in artificial intelligence, international partnerships and a renewed commitment to luxury jewelry storytelling.
A Unified Platform for Trust and Desire
Under Amber Pepper’s leadership, The Diamond Collective presents natural diamonds as cultural objects shaped by geology, human expertise and personal emotion. Its collaborative structure gives the luxury jewelry industry a single, unified platform for building trust, inspiring desire and celebrating the enduring significance of diamonds, both among the 1% today and across future generations of collectors.
