GX42 Hybrid Superyacht Redefines the Luxury Yacht Experience

GX Superyachts Introduces a New Vision for the Luxury Yacht Experience

The 138 foot GX42 brings hybrid propulsion, Italian design and a serene approach to life at sea, reflecting the evolving priorities of The 1%.

A new expression of responsible luxury has entered the water. GX Superyachts has launched its first luxury yacht in Turkey, introducing a 138 foot flagship that combines advanced hybrid technology, refined Italian design and an onboard experience centred on comfort, tranquillity and connection with the sea.
The GX42 represents the opening chapter for GX Superyachts, a brand created to bring sustainable innovation into the world of large private yachts. Its arrival reflects a broader evolution across the luxury yacht sector, where technology, design and environmental awareness increasingly form part of a sophisticated ownership experience.
For The 1%, this philosophy aligns naturally with a lifestyle shaped by privacy, freedom and access to exceptional experiences around the world.

A Luxury Yacht Designed Around Responsible Cruising

At the heart of the GX42 is a diesel electric hybrid propulsion system supported by a high capacity lithium battery bank and integrated solar arrays.

The technology allows the yacht to spend up to 48 hours at anchor in emission free mode, creating an environment where guests can experience the surroundings with exceptional serenity.
The yacht’s energy management technology can also reduce onboard electricity consumption by as much as 45 percent. This approach brings efficiency into the ownership experience while supporting the comfort expected aboard a contemporary luxury yacht.
For owners who spend extended periods exploring coastlines, islands and secluded anchorages, the ability to enjoy time aboard with minimal sound and greater energy efficiency creates an appealing dimension to life at sea.

Italian Design Meets Technology

Technology forms one part of the GX42 story. Design gives the yacht its distinctive character.
Italian designer Marco Casali created both the exterior architecture and interiors, establishing a coherent aesthetic throughout the vessel. Smooth lines, natural materials and carefully considered spaces create an atmosphere that feels elegant, contemporary and closely connected to the marine environment.

Among the yacht’s defining features is a fold out beach club that brings guests directly towards the water. A generous flybridge creates another setting for relaxation, entertaining and open air living.
The GX42 has also been conceived for long range cruising, allowing owners to extend this lifestyle across international waters and explore destinations according to their own rhythm.
This combination of autonomy and comfort resonates strongly with the lifestyle of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. More than 510,000 people globally now belong to the UHNW population, collectively representing approximately $60 trillion in wealth. With this population projected to expand significantly towards 2030, demand for highly personalised assets and experiences continues to shape the upper levels of the luxury market.
A luxury yacht sits naturally within this world, offering a private environment that brings together mobility, hospitality, design and personal freedom.

Wellbeing Becomes Part of the Luxury Yacht Experience

GX Superyachts has placed wellbeing at the centre of its philosophy.
Maurizio Magri, COO of GX Superyachts, describes the project as an experience shaped around tranquillity, comfort and a stronger relationship with the sea.
This perspective reflects the changing expectations surrounding luxury yacht ownership. The vessel becomes a private retreat, a place where architecture, engineering and the natural environment work together to create a sense of balance.

The ability to remain at anchor in emission free mode for extended periods reinforces this idea. A secluded bay can become a private residence on the water, surrounded by nature and supported by sophisticated technology operating discreetly behind the experience.
For The 1%, this represents a compelling interpretation of contemporary luxury: time, privacy, personal space and the freedom to experience exceptional destinations on individual terms.

From Greenline Yachts to the Superyacht World

GX Superyachts was established in 2024 by the team behind Greenline Yachts, a shipyard recognised for integrating environmentally conscious technologies into its vessels.
The company’s expansion into the superyacht sector followed growing interest in its electric propulsion expertise. An encounter involving Prince Albert II of Monaco and Greenline’s 33 foot electric vessel helped inspire the team to apply its technological philosophy to yachts of a substantially larger scale.
GX Superyachts subsequently introduced its ambitions at the Monaco Yacht Show, establishing a range that is planned to span approximately 78 feet to 164 feet.
The GX42 now translates that vision into a physical flagship.

Monaco Yacht Show Sets the Stage

Following its launch in Turkey, the GX42 is scheduled to make its international debut at the Monaco Yacht Show beginning on September 23, 2026.
Monaco provides a natural setting for the yacht’s introduction. The principality remains one of the world’s defining destinations for superyacht ownership, private wealth and the international luxury lifestyle.
For owners, family offices and yacht enthusiasts attending the show, the GX42 will offer an opportunity to experience how hybrid engineering can become an integral part of refined life at sea.
The launch also illustrates the direction emerging across the luxury yacht industry. Innovation increasingly extends throughout the ownership experience, encompassing propulsion, energy management, interior environments, wellbeing and the relationship between a vessel and its surroundings.
For The 1%, the appeal of the luxury yacht continues to evolve around a powerful idea: a private world capable of travelling with its owner.
With the GX42, GX Superyachts brings that idea to life through Italian design, advanced engineering and an approach to cruising centred on serenity, freedom and responsible luxury.
