The Maybach Ocean Club: A Floating World of Ultra-Luxury for The 1%
At the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Mercedes-Maybach unveiled one of the most ambitious luxury ventures ever imagined at sea — the Maybach Ocean Club, a 500-foot luxury yacht designed as a private members’ world afloat.
Developed in partnership with Splendid Sea, led by Matthias Bosse, this monumental project marks Maybach’s elegant entry into oceanic exclusivity — a seamless extension of its legendary craftsmanship from road to horizon.
The Floating Members’ Club Redefining Ocean Luxury
Named Beyond Horizons, the Maybach Ocean Club will be a fully operational gigayacht unlike anything currently sailing the world’s oceans. The 500-foot vessel will host only 30 private suites, each with its own balcony, complemented by haute-cuisine restaurants, immersive wellness facilities, and private lounges overlooking the sea.
Membership will be limited to 300 co-owners, each enjoying up to four weeks aboard per year, with occupancy capped at just 72 guests at any given time—a deliberate choice to ensure privacy, intimacy, and the absence of a “cruise ship” atmosphere.
For the world’s elite, this isn’t a voyage. It’s a floating sanctuary of status, where membership means belonging to an entirely new stratum of experience.
Design Meets Technology: The Maybach Aesthetic at Sea
Echoing the sophistication of its flagship sedans, the Beyond Horizons vessel fuses traditional Maybach craftsmanship with sustainable innovation.
The gigayacht will be powered by a clean-fuel propulsion system, aligning with Maybach’s vision of responsible performance — akin to the philosophy behind the all-electric EQS 680 SUV. Every design element pays homage to Maybach’s iconic language: from the sleek, layered decks that cascade like landscapes to the distinctive Maybach signet adorning the bow.
The interiors, envisioned by Dölker + Voges Design Studio in collaboration with Maybach’s design team, will reinterpret automotive luxury in a maritime context — tailor-made furnishings, ambient lighting, hand-finished materials, and panoramic glass expanses that dissolve the boundaries between sea and sky.
A Lifestyle Engineered for The 1%
The Maybach Ocean Club extends across 50,000 square feet of living space, structured as a series of cascading decks that evoke movement and serenity. At the stern, a multi-level beach club unfolds into a split-level infinity pool, layered teak terraces, and a private swim platform for direct access to the ocean.
Inside, members will find a curated balance between privacy and sociability — secluded reading lounges, cinematic spaces, and a wellness suite offering bespoke therapies inspired by Maybach’s heritage of quiet luxury.
Every detail speaks to personalized sophistication, designed not just to impress but to envelop.
The Future of Yachting: Ownership by Invitation
While completion is targeted for 2029, Splendid Sea has already finalized design specifications and opened exclusive invitations for prospective members via the official Maybach Ocean Club website.
Membership requires an annual contribution of approximately five percent of the initial investment, covering all operational costs — from fuel and crew management to port fees and insurance.
For the world’s most discerning collectors, the Maybach Ocean Club represents a new frontier: a luxury yacht that transforms ownership into art, where exclusivity is no longer defined by possession, but by participation.
A New Symbol of Movement and Majesty
With Beyond Horizons, Maybach has reimagined what it means to travel, to belong, and to experience luxury.
This isn’t just a vessel.
It’s a new continent of privilege — where the sea becomes private, and every horizon feels designed for you.
